The 5-speed semi-automatic transmission with convenient reverse gear features an automatic clutch for easy shifting of the gear lever. The 228cc SOHC 4-stroke engine develops its power from low engine speeds. A counterrotating engine balancer helps reduce vibration for rider comfort.

With its dependable electric starter and manual choke, the affordable Bayou 250 gets going quickly and easily. The recoil backup starting system is operated by a pull cord mounted on the left side of the engine.

The Bayou 250 provides reliable, quiet and low-maintenance operation thanks to its fully sealed shaft drive system powering the rear wheels. Independent dual drum brakes up front and a single rear drum brake deliver consistent braking performance in a variety of weather conditions.
